Sealed Pack Integrity & Myth-Busting

🌙 Sealed Pack Integrity & Myth‑Busting

Moonlight SLS Corp / dba: Moonlight Collectibles

At Moonlight Collectibles, trust is not a marketing slogan — it’s a standard. This page exists to clearly explain how sealed Pokémon products work, what myths exist online, and what we do (and never do) to protect our customers and the integrity of the hobby.

🔒 Our Sealed Pack Integrity Promise

We guarantee that every sealed Pokémon product sold by Moonlight Collectibles is:

  • 100% unweighed

  • 100% unsearched

  • 100% untampered

  • Sold exactly as received from sealed cases, ETBs, or authorized distributors

We do not — and will never — engage in pack weighing, hit mapping, scanning, or any technique intended to predict or influence pack contents.

🚫 What We Absolutely Do NOT Do

To be fully transparent, Moonlight Collectibles does not use any of the following methods:

  • Metal detectors or stud finders

  • Magnetic or electronic scanners

  • Weighing scales (digital or analog)

  • Light testing or X‑ray devices

  • Pressing, squeezing, or “feeling” packs

  • Corner compression or pack bending

  • Sorting or cherry‑picking loose packs

No employee or partner is permitted to evaluate packs in any way that could suggest knowledge of card contents.

🧪 Myth #1: “Holo Detectors” Can Find Hits

Claim: Some videos show creators using metal detectors or stud finders to locate holo cards inside sealed packs.

Truth: This is scientifically impossible.

Pokémon holo cards do not contain enough metal to be detected through a sealed booster pack. The holographic layer is a microscopic foil laminate — thinner than a human hair — and does not produce a detectable signal.

In fact, the foil wrapper itself contains more metallic material than the card inside. If such devices actually worked, they would trigger on every pack.

Videos claiming otherwise are staged, edited, or misleading.

🧪 Myth #2: Packs Can Be Reliably Weighed

Claim: Heavier packs always contain hits.

Truth: This was partially true over 20 years ago. It is not true today.

Modern Pokémon packs:

  • Contain multiple foil types

  • Use variable ink density

  • Include code cards with inconsistent weights

These changes were made specifically to prevent weighing. Any claim that modern packs can be reliably weighed is outdated or dishonest.

🧪 Myth #3: Sellers Can “Scan” Packs

Claim: Sellers use scanners, lights, or electronics to see inside packs.

Truth: There is no legitimate consumer or commercial tool capable of identifying Pokémon card contents through sealed packaging.

Any video suggesting otherwise relies on:

  • Prior knowledge of pack contents

  • Selective editing

  • Resealed or staged products

  • False audio or visual cues
